Young children can lose them quite easily with all their activity, and the repetition of putting them on, taking them off. They work just as well as name brands, until they get dropped in the bathtub or left at a friend’s house. That is why I would not pay $25.00 for a child’s watch. It makes a child feel special to wear a watch of their own, and they usually come in many different styles or themes, such as animals and cartoon characters. The expression “you get what you pay for” does apply in many cases. For instance, I would not buy a cordless drill at a discount retailer when I can go to Sears and purchase a better quality drill for only $10 more. For smaller items though, I have actually compared by visual inspection and found the $1 item to look and perform exactly like the item for $20.00.
